3Gs After 06.15 Baseband Unlock

Hey guys so I have a little problem with my friends 3GS that I unlocked.

First of all this is how I did it.

1) It was on 4.1 so I updated to 4.2.1
2) Then flashed with the iPad baseband for unlock
3) installed ultrasn0w

ok so the unlock was working for 2-3 days however during those 2-3 days the phone sometimes kept on restarting and giving me error "restore needed iphone cant make or receive calls" a simple reset would fix it.

Now this is what i am seeing on the phone all the time
so since I am on the 6.15 baseband I cant restore to stock firmware so okay I resotred with custom firmware and everytime I look on the top of the phone I see "searching...." I have read a little that it might be corrupted firmware? but how would this happen by itself ?

one more thing is that my wi fi and bluetooth are greyed out and when I go to about I cannot see the baseband version...

someone who is smart with this please help me out

Use redsn0w to flash the baseband again then restore to a custom firmware.

Thank you for your reply. But how would I do that since I have no WI-Fi it's greyed out ?

You dont need wifi to flash the ipad baseband again. Just use redsnow.

Well for some reason it always gets stuck on flashing iPad baseband only any solution to this ?

Your baseband may be corrupt then unfortunately

it gets stuck exactly on Uploading ram disk

is there anyway to reflash? or only way is to wait for new firmware which can take months... ?

Use pwnage tools to create a custom firmware with the iPad baseband built into it. Try to restore to it, let us know the exact error it gives you.

please help me too. i have exactly the same problem. i upgraded my iphone 3g to ios 4.2.1 with the new baseband, it worked fine for a few days. Then i got
'restore needed - iphone cannot make or receive calls. connect to itunes'
also the wifi is greyed out and bluetooth just displays 000000000000000000000 and there is no IMEI number. I restored my iphone and got error when i tried to restore. so i had to restore it to 4.1 and the used rec boot to get rid of the error and get me out of recovery mode, i then jailbroke it with red snow. My phone loaded again but i am still getting the same message.

I really don't know what to do i feel like i have screwed my iphone. PLEASE HELP

That sounds like your baseband is corrupt. Dont know if there is much you can do about that sorry. You can maybe try reflashing the iPad baseband onto it again but its a long shot.

what about downgrading the baseband. i heard the dev team are working on doing this, but it hasn't been released yet. when it's released do you think that will work?

So far on my friends 3GS I tried everything however I did not try yet going to 4.1

so I tried using custom 4.2.1 with ipad baseband = no work still it says searching and wi fi etc is greyed out

I tried flashing ipad baseband onto the 3gs but it always gets stuck on uploading data (in redsn0w)

so I am really running out of ideas on what to do

Are you running redsnow in windows xp sp 2 compatibility mode?

so I restored the 3GS to 4.1 and I am getting the same thing "searching..."

and when trying to flash with iPad baseband it always gets stuck in redsn0w in uploading ramdisk after fetching baseband message is gone. Is there any hope for this iPhone ?

i have the same problem. maybe when we can downgrade the baseband, we can then fix it. but we are still waiting for the downgrade to be com;pleted
