Default What can I expect with t-mobiles edge?

I had fairly decent 3G coverage my last go around when I had my 3G, however this time I'm going to be using mine on tmobiles edge, im just wondering, will I be able to use apps like slacker and what not or will I be dealing with constant refreshes if i try? What can I expect?
Just waiting for the unlock for baseband 5.14.02.. I hope it's soon!

Edge on tmobile is of course slower than att 3g. It's perfectly fine for web browsing, email, and im. I've successfully completed a tango video call with my iphone 4 over 2g using 3g unrestrictor from cydia. Maps work great because the tracking is done via gps. You tube will be slow, but it will eventually load. App downloads will be fine for the most part. Generally though, I recommend using data only when you don't have access to wifi. I have wifi at home and school and rarely am away from one of the two

I never get more than 100KB/s...3G gets around 1.5MB/sec
