Default iPhone 4 Factory Unlocked MMS Settings
    Hey all.

I've tried so many settings and none seem to work on not getting the error msg "media content not included due to picture res or msg size restriction".

I can send images and I've even sent to myself and received the picture back but when friends send me a picture msg I get that error msg.

I'm on version 4.1 and the phone is not jailbroken, just a factory unlocked iPhone. Any help would be appreciated

Ya, I tried using all of those settings. I believe I used the "Legacy" version on my 3gs (was jailbroken) and the picture messages worked fine. I'm not sure why it isn't working on my iPhone 4. I really don't want to jailbreak, I paid more for the factory unlocked so I wouldn't have to deal with updates and such, but this is a bit of a pain.

I am having the same issue.

I have a factory unlocked iPhone 3GS with ISO 4.1 and trying to avoid jailbreaking it to recieve picture messages (i can send mms just fine). Ive tried all different network settings and wondering if it is possible to actually recieve picture messages on my iphone without jailbreaking it.

    thanks.

I'm not even sure if it'll work without jailbreaking it and I really don't feel like jailbreaking my factory unlocked iPhone 4.

Must be something within when getting the proper tools through cydia, but I can't see why it wouldn't work with a factory unlocked phone. Hopefully someone can shed some light.

to FORMULA: dude for your APN for cell data AND MMS change it to "epc.tmobile.com

and to tizzle719: since you are jailbroken just got to cydia, then manage, then sources, add "beta.leimobile.com/repo/", once done look for t-mobile mms fix, install and after make sure both your APN'S are "epc.tmobile.com" :-)

It's good to have an unlocked phone because you don't have to deal with ultrasn0w, which doesn't always work on the latest baseband, but if you have thought that you'll never have to jailbreak, you were gravely mistaken.

You will have to jailbreak since iOS will not accept unsigned carrier bundles without a patched CommCenter. However, there is an alternative to all that Cydia crap to keep your phone clean: CreamSn0w. Read that blog post, watch the video. In your case, ultrasn0w and its dependencies should be removed since you don't need them, but everything else still stands. I can make a custom CreamSn0w without the unlock.

I had to try a combination of things before mine worked. I am not sure which combo works but I have mine working with these packages installed and these settings:

    Packages I have from cydia:
Carrier reset fix from BOTH pushfix.info and leimobile (dont know which is the one that is working so I kept them both)
    Commcenter patch
    t-mobile us mms fix

and my cellular data fields have these settings:

    sms:

    apn: epc.tmobile.com
    username:
    password:

    mms:
    APN: wap.voicestream.com
    Username:
    Password:
    MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
    MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
    MMS Max Message Size:
    MMS UA Prof URL:

I had to have different apn's for mine to work.
