Can I put the iPhone 4 background on my 2g phone and how?

Was at the apple store last night looking at the new iPhone 4. It it really nice, but while i have my 2g phone unlocked on t-mobile, i have to either wait and see if tmobile gets the iPhone 4 or switch my service to ATT to have it right now.

In the meantime, Is there a way to put the iPhone 4 background behind the app buttons on my iPhone 2G?. I like the look of the gray with the water bubble behind it.

Im new to all the tricks of doing stuff like this, so if anyone can tell me how to do it or if it can be done or mess up my unlocked phone, please let me know.

You can install and use winterboard for background images.

ive heard that term, where do i get it from, how do i install it, and where would i get the iphone 4 pic for background from?

You can download it from cydia. As for the iPhone 4 background I am sure a quick google search would bring that up, or possibly even a search in cydia.

i got the background i wanted, but now when i lock the phone, it has some rainbow as the lock screen. I tell it i want my own pic as a lock wallpaper and it says it accepts it, but everytime i lock it, the rainbow screen is still there, how can i put my own pic back to the lock screen pic that it was?

yes, it selected for iphone os 4.0 theme, user wallpaper and user lock background, but when i pick my lock background, it still comes up the same rainbow, i even turned off the user wallpaper and user lock background and tried only one at a time and still same results.

When you select a theme it overrides wallpaper you try and put on it.

You need to turn off the theme and just select user background then select the wallpaper you want

i got it! someone else said the winterboard takes priority in the order it lists it and to drag up the lock screen as priority one, then the theme right below it. it worked.

how would i get just the background pic saved to my phone anyways if its in the package so i have it on for later by itself?
