Getting email w/ blackberry on iphone

I have an older plan for my blackberry where I have unlimited email but no data. I recently acquired an Iphone 3G. It is jailbroken and unlocked.
I wondered if anyone could tell me how I can get email (in a way similar to my blackberry) on my "new" iphone. [aside from getting it using wi-fi)

iPhone email requires either a data plan or wifi. It does not have a separate email plan. You would have to rely on wifi or getting a data plan.

lmfao so many people get suckered into this "email plan." you need a data connection to access web-based email. having a dedicated email address for your phone is usually not compatible on the iPhone.
