Unlocked T Mobile I Phon

I just bought an T Mobile I phone, I can make calls and send text messages but that is it. I Tunes doesnt see it, I can't connect to the internet and I have absolutely no idea what to do. I think I need to restore it to factory settings but have not password to do it. I think if I could figure out how to get ITunes to "see" it then I would be fine. Any idea.... Halp

Is your iphone 4 factory unlocked from the UK? The reason I ask is becasue Tmob does not sell iphone 4 not unless you're in UK where I think Tmob UK sells iphone. Why does it have a lock code to reset? Are you sure you got a genuine Iphone 4?

I'm bought it from Craigslist, so I'm dont know much about it. I don't think it's a genuine I phone. When I power my phone on I get some weird start up screen not an I phone or Apple logo I've read about seeing when I power on.
