so I just bought a iphone 2g that was supposedly unlocked, but of course it isn't I popped in my sim card, I can't get past the itunes connection screen
So I did forcast (bare with me this is my first time with a iphone, so I think I need it unlocked, and jail broken, but I don't know where to start)
I'm using tmobile, I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
So where do I start? What do I do..? I've done some searching, I've unlocked other phones, and I'm rather confused, could someone shine some light on the situation (btw I hope I'm posting in the right section)

Depending on what firmware and Mac or PC, you could start here.

2g can be unlocked for any firmware FYI. The phone just needs to be hacktivated, (activated through a jailbreak).

You may have to add the APN settings for T-Mo, you can do a simple search for that, as there are many threads here, YouTube and Google.

Dont pay extra for data dont call TMo. Go to your account online, select "your phone" which you should select a nonsmartphone. Go to "services" and select "web2go $9.99" or something like that that only costs $9.99 a month. You could call TMo if you have a spare nonsmartphone as they might ask you for the IMEI number of it to verify it isnt a smartphone and add the $9.99 plan. If they suspect you have a smartphone or even an iPhone, they'll try to force the $24.99 plan on you.
