    What's the difference between using

    http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

    And

    http://wap.sonyericsson.com/UAprof/w800iR101.xml

    Is one better to use than the other?

  3. #103
    I can send, but not receive.

    3GS old bootrom jailbroken/unlocked on tmobile. Using spirit2pwn and the pwnage tool 4.01. I used the sinfulphone fix ( only opened the settings up)

  4. #104
    When I received a picture, I get a error that says "the media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction"

    My 3Gs is also jailbroken and unlocked on t-mobile; blackra1n 3.1.2 and then sn0wbreeze to 4.0

    can someone please help me out here?

    for those who are having problems with receiving mms, change this line in the plist file
    <string>http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc</string>

    to http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms

    and type these into Cellular data network
    Cellular Data
    APN - epc.tmobile.com
    user name
    password
    MMS
    APN - wap.voicestream.com
    Username
    password
    MMSC - http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
    MMS Proxy - 216.155.165.50:8080
    MMS Max Message Size - 1048576
    MMS UA Prof URL - http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

    reboot and you will be able to send/receive mms perfectly

    also if mms doesn't work at all after you overwrite the plist file, change its permission to mobile, R and W

  6. #106
    how do you access the plist file?

  7. #107
    This does work for me.

    How did you access your plist file?

  9. #109
    Hi thanks for the code. I just jailbroke and unlocked my phone it is a 3g running 4.0 firmware
    the file stated above is not in my Preferences folder this is the only file
    com.apple.Preferences.plist
    Is this essentially the same file with a new name? I'm hesitant to alter it with our being certain.

    update,
    The contents of the file are as follows

    bplist00“_KeyboardLastUsed_KeyboardLastUsedForLang uage_en_US@hw=US;sw=QWERTY“\ASCIICapableUen_US

    SSH. Or iPhoneExplorer in conjunction with afc2add. You should look this stuff up if you're unfamiliar...it's essential to working with iPhone/UNIX.

    Negative. That is not the plist. But, you can very easily make a copy of that plist and rename it to the correct name. That would work as well. Then open it up with a text editor and paste in the code, save, and throw it in the preferences folder.

    You can also make a new plist with the correct file name in Property List Editor, then repeat the text editor process.

    Intsall T-Mobile iOS4 MMS Fix from the sinful iphone repo. It's the plist fix in a debian package. I can't link you, since they do promote warez. Google it.

    hey, i gave that a try. nothing

    even restored my iphone all over again. jailbroke again and unlocked AGAIN. then ran that tmobile ios4 MMS fix.

    nothing chances, i still dont have internet or MMS.

    i'm getting so fed up with this. 3.1.2 ran flawless but i liked the idea of multitasking and being able to setup a background on my homescreen.

    can anyone send me a PM and walk me through this.

    1:_SSH in to your iPhone then navigate to

    /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/

    inside the Preferences folder you'll need to find a file call "com.apple.mms_override.plist"

    2:_Download that file in to your computer and open it with any text editor software
    You need to delete everything there and paste this

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>MMS</key>
    <dict>
    <key>GroupModeEnabled</key>
    <false/>
    <key>MMSC</key>
    <string>http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc</string>
    <key>MaxMessageSize</key>
    <integer>1048576</integer>
    <key>MaxRecipients</key>
    <integer>10</integer>
    <key>MaxVideoBitrate</key>
    <integer>131072</integer>
    <key>Proxy</key>
    <string>216.155.165.50:8080</string>
    <key>UAProf</key>
    <string>http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf</string>
    <key>UserAgent</key>
    <string>SonyEricssonW800i/R1L</string>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    3:_Save the file with out renaming the original name
    and upload it back to you iphone in the same place

    /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/

    You'll will need to override "replace" the original file that is in there

    4:_Then Rebooted your iPhone an mms incoming and outgoing will work just perfect

    UPDATE #1

    After Rebooting your phone Open Settings and go to General/Network/Cellular Data Network/ and make sure you have this same settings "if not" then just add it

    Cellular Data

    Apn: internet2.voicestream.com
    Username:
    Password:

    Mms

    Apn: epc.tmobile.com
    Username:
    Password:
    MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
    MMS Max Message Size: 1048576
    MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

    And reboot your phone one more time

    UPDATE # 2
    I've been following this thread and it seems that this is not helping People that use redSn0w to jailbreak there phone
    Maybe there is a Bug with Redsn0w
    Try Pwnage tool to jailbreak ur phone instead
    Because that's what I use to jailbreak mine and I have no problem at all
    All I need it to do was the MMS Fix that I share here

    Update #3
    I still keep following this thread and i think I Finally figure why this tutorial is not working for some people
    i think i'm wrong on my Update#2 it has nothing to do with Redsn0w, it seems that the problem actually comes from the way people is Activating there phone
    Every one should let iTunes Activate there iPhone b4 Jailbreak it with redSnow or if u use Pwnage to make a custom Fw Just make sure that you don't select the Activate Box and let iTunes activate the phone

    Note:To legally Activate ur iPhone all u need is an At@t or singular Sim card, the Sim card doesn't need to have service
    iTunes will activate your iPhone even if the Sim card has no Service

    If you do that way, it'll better cause Push notification will work just perfect and if you Hacktivate instead then Push Notification WILL NOT WORK

    REMEMBER YOU MIGHT STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH RECEIVING MMS EVEN IF YOU LET ITUNES ACTIVATE UR PHONE "TO FIX THAT PROBLEM" YOU WILL HAVE TO FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL UP TO MY UPDATE #1

    BY LETTING ITUNES ACTIVATE THE PHONE IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM THAT PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH "CELLULAR DATA NETWORK" NOT SHOWING IN THERE SETTINGS AND ALSO THE PUSH NOTIFICATION

    I hope this can help every one with the same problem I was having with the incoming mms

    Thanks

    I bought a factory unlocked iphone 4 overseas and I'm currently using it on T-Mobile US and I cant recieve any MMS. It has iOS 4 but since I cannot jailbreak it yet and cannot SSH does that mean I'm screwed until a jailbreak is released?

  17. #117

    No, i suggest you download a App to explore the phones files manually. I personally use iPhone explorer.

    Edit the file manually,

    Here are the instructions of exactly what I did.

    1. Re-jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.5 BETA [iPhone Dev Team] (deselect cydia in the part where you select what to do)
    2. Add http://beta.leimobile.com/repo/ to your cydia sources and Install the T-Mobile 4.0 MMS fix, then reboot
    3. Add this to your Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network
    MMS
    APN: epc.tmobile.com
    Username:
    Password:
    MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

    MMS Max Message Size: 614400
    MMS UA Prof URL: http://wap.sonyericsson.com/UAprof/w800iR101.xml

    i have noticed an hour delay idk if it might be due to the place where in testing hardly has any service.
    Please thank if this worked for you
    This worked for me and i tried pretty much everything else out there. Thanks alot!
