Internet Speed on iPhone

Hey, I am about to get an unlocked iPhone and run it on the 10$ unlimited data plan, does it still work with the internet2 APN setting? If so, how is the speed since someone told me that you can only use 3G on AT&T network, so the internet might be a little slow.. so I am just wondering how fast is the speed comparing to the AT&T iPhone 3G network. Thanks!

It will work. Without 3G it is decent. Its not as great as having 3G but its not bad either.

I use Opera Mini to browse now instead of Safari so the browsing speed is fantastic (nearly as fast as wifi). Tho Youtube and whatnot will still be a bit slow. Google maps is quicj though (with or without GPS use)
