    Default internet tethering

    hey guys

    when i go to settings>general>network and i tap set up internet tethering it says : to enable internet tethering on this account, contact tmobile. how do i fix this. also if it helps i dont have any data plan except for unlimited picture and text messaging.

    You need a data plan to tether. Some few lucky people got around it by entering internet2.voicestream.com - which is a glitch really. But if that doesn't work then you're just gonna have to pay the $10/month.

    but if i pay the 10$ a month cant i just use that as my data plan and use safari and cydia and stuff regularly

    Yes, but that's not the point of tethering.

    You use tethering when you're on a laptop or PC when you don't have a readily available internet connection. Again, you have to have a cellular data plan.

    well if u have a data plan you will have the internet connection on your iphone or is this if you dont have internet for the computer so u use your iphones internet?

    Both.

    Data plan is for the phone. Internet tethering is to allow/share the phone's internet with a compatible device.
