3.1.3 has no advantages for 3g and 3gs users. BUT 3.1.3 DOES have an advantage for 2g iPhone users: it makes your battery last longer.

When I downgraded to 3.1.2 JUST to have mms enabled, my battery was constantly draining, even when not in use and locked (sleeping). I don't have that problem AT ALL on 3.1.3.

Now, with that said.......can someone please enable mms for 2g iPhone on 3.1.3?

There is no way in hell I'm going back to 3.1.2 with such battery drainage issues.

I've talked to many different people and done extensive research. There is no more develpment in the works for any 2G iPhone software, nor will there be. So basically, you can have 3.1.2 with the working MMS from Cydia, or 3.1.3 with better battery. You can download SwirlyMMS from Cydia but not only is the quality much much MUCH less than the native MMS app for the 3.1.2 firmware, but it will also cost you 12.00 USD. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but trust me, I've done the leg work.

I'm going to try to make this as clear as I can. There is NO native MMS utility that will work with 3.1.3. Only 3.1.2. If you're on 3.1.3 here are your ONLY options.

1. - Downgrade to 3.1.2 to be able to use the MMS feature from Cydia.

2. - Stay on 3.1.3 and deal with it. Possibly purchase SwirlyMMS.

Seriously, those are the ONLY options available.

How are you even able to install enable mms for 2g from cydia?? It will not allow you if you are on 3.1.3 so please tell us what we can do for 3.1.3

I'd also very much like to know as 3.1.3 is necessary to run my netflix app which I use often, but would like to send mms w/o using swirly

In reply to Jdoerr343: You don't need 3.1.3 to run Netflix, I run mine on 3.1.2 using Mobile Terminal in conjunction with afc2add & OpenSSH to dpkg -i arm, although I can't get Native MMS to work anymore either on 3.1.2 and I have Swirly purchased, just further proof Apple and Cydia fans are phasing out the original.
Took me all month to realize that Native MMS and SBSettings too were causing my 3.1.2 to crash into Mobile Substrate.

Almost like being punished for taking care of our 2g which is still a great phone! If you figure out the native mms problem please let me know, then maybe you can walk me through the netflix fix?
