    Default MMS/ T-Mobile/ 2G/ fw_3.0 questions from a noobie

I have a 2G iPhone, 3.0 version FW, T-Mobile service. FWIW I have NO data plan and don't plan on spending extra money in the future to enable this feature either.
I'm kinda new to the scene and although I jailbroke my phone on my own through extensive research I'm a little reluctant to enable the MMS feature.
A lot of the tutorials and user comments and threads seem a bit old and dated. It also appears some of the tools required are not readily available anymore (I.E. activateMMS2g).

I guess my first question is: Is applying the MMS hack even worth it? I've read comments about users receiving errors upon sending photo embedded MMS's and/or the send/receive action taking 5x longer than it used to. Out of a dozen or so comments there appears to be only one or two sucessful attempts.

Second question: how do I know what carrier package I'm signed up with? Can I find it on my account page on T-mobile.com? I'm on my parents plan so I don't have the credentials necessary to talk to phone support.

Third question: if I do move forward with this. How valid are the instructions and comments in THIS thread? I especially like the comments and updates from the other users.

More questions to follow I'm sure.

    Thanks

Restore to 3.1.2 read the following thread:

T-Mobile USA Carrier Bundles: Bluetooth, Data/Internet, MMS, & Tethering (2G/3G/3GS)

    It's the most up-to-date.

Any issues, post in that thread using the "Asking for Help Format."
