Will a tmobile sidekick plan work with an unlocked iPhone 3gs?

hey guys im considering buying an iPhone 3Gs from craigslist or something like that, so my question is, is it possible to buy a sim card from a T-Mobile store, get the sidekick 1$ a day unlimited plan, and after jailbreaking/unlocking my iphone, pop the sucker in there and have tmobile prepaid service on my iphone? if it is possible, please explain on how to do this, as im pretty confused after searching and reading through forums

I believe T-Mobile fixed that loophole by only allowing Sidekicks on to that plan. I know they block access to the sidekick data APN (as of August 2009): hiptop.t-mobile.com

so if you can't use the sidekick prepaid plan, well as far as you know, are there other prepaid plans that would work with the iphone?

hmm well that shows me the different prepaid plans but I'm still not sure if buying a prepaid sim card will work in an iPhone? I guess the only way to find out would be testing it myself unless anyone else has tried doing this?

I haven't personally tested prepaid, but there are others on here who currently have prepaid. I'm sure one of them will chime in.

EDIT: SpookyET uses prepaid and it works for him.

Oh well that's good to know. So basically Id have to pick up a cheap phone from tmobile, activate it then put the sim card in the iPhone simple as that?

Actually, I believe they offer prepaid sim cards that you can buy (without the phone).

There's been talk of internet2.voicestream.com working on prepaid, providing free data.

It's a loophole, and like any loophole, it'll get fixed.
