PLEASE HELP!! I need help with unlocking iPhone 1G!!

For Christmas my boyfriend got me a iPhone. It is the 1st generation. (I'm guessing its a first generation because the back of it is silver and at the bottom is black.) It was unlocked because I have T Mobile and when he gave it to me all I had to do was put my T Mobile SIM card in it and it worked fine.

Later on that night I plugged my iPhone up to my laptop. When I plugged it up, iTunes recognized it, and I saw it was running the 3.x.x. software. (x = some number I don't remember) A window popped up and said that a update was available. I took out my
T Mobile SIM to update because I didnt want iTunes to reject the update. So I downloaded the update and then tried to install it but it wouldnt install because it said "Please insert SIM." So then I put my T Mobile SIM card back in the iPhone and iTunes says "SIM card not supported. Insert valid SIM to update."

So this where I'm stuck...all the iPhone will do is show me a screen that has a white cord and a iTunes symbol (which I guess means plug into iTunes) and at the bottom it says slide for emergancy call. At the top left corner it still says T Mobile when my SIM card is in. Also when my SIM card is in and its says T Mobile and has the bars, when I slide the bar to make an emergency call I can call anyone and people can still call me!

So is there anyway I can fix this? Can I unlock it? Will I need a AT&T SIM to finish the update and then unlock it? How do I unlock it?

Go to blackra1n.com
download blackrain. Connectnur phone to ur computer and open blackra1n. Click make it rain. Now ur jailbroekn. In ur springboard open the blackra1n icon and then install cydia. After u do that search for bootnueter. Install it. Then go to springboard and open it and then flash. Sry if u don't get the flash part cause I have never been around iPhone 2g. But I thbk ull get it.
And for future reference never update a firmware until u cone here and seenthat u can jailbreak it.

2g = hardware unlocked..

download and install blackra1n from blackra1n.com

run blackra1n with the phone connected to the computer. You will see geohot's face on your phone. once it reboots you'll be good to go. No needs to mess with unlocking or anything again. (basically what your doing is hacktivating (activating without a AT&T sim) the phone

Not blacksn0w dude...blackra1n...which can unlock+jailbreak d latest modem firmware on 3G/3GS iPhone's(with modem firmware version 05.11.07)...but just 2 jailbreak 2G iPhone's.

U know what....actually...I tried on a couple of different iPhone 2G's...but never had it complete jailbreak+unlock with blackra1n+bootneuter.

she said it was already unlocked... she only needs blackra1n

(n yeah i can never get blackra1n + bootnuter working anyways... i always just downgrade to 3.0 and use redsn0w..., but the dev team has redsn0w .9 comming out soon )
