Default Old sim vs new sim, data dependant??

I had the old T-Mobile sim card in my 2G and was getting free data for about 1 year. 2 days ago I kept getting the "SEARCHING..." signal and "No service" signal. I swapped my wife's sim and her sim worked in my phone and my sim didn't work in her phone.

So I go to t-mobile store and get a new free Sim card, they are all 3G sims now. No more 2G sims available.

Now I can't get the free data anymore. I tried all the APNs and no luck. Shucks Was the 2G Sim the loophole to get free data with internet2.voicestream.com?

Anyone else have this happen to them?

While I do not advocate theft.

Have you actually tried a different APN?

    wap.voicestream.com? epc.tmobile.com?

thanks Lecram, I tried those already. Well, I think I'll just have to buy the data plan.

After a year of free data, you should know how useful it is and just pay the $10 a month
