iphone 3g signal problems

i just recently factory resetted my iphone on 3.1.2 firmware, then rejailbroke it/unlock by using blackrain. then i tethered it for mms settings, and it worked fine for a couple days, until now. my signal comes and goes, and it drops out of nowhere, even in my own home where i always get service. the signal bars drop then says, searching... then eventually "no service" i switched sims with my friends phone and our sims worked fine on eachothers phones. can someone help me out ? when i take out my sim and put it back in the signal works for a bit but it still drops . as of now i dont get service at all anymore.

I would try to restore and rejailbreak it

Yeah i'd recommend a full restore and rejailbreak / reunlock

If all else fails and your on a mac, you can make a custom ipsw with pwnage to jailbreak, and just use blacksn0w to unlock the phone.

okay so, i restored it with a custom 3.1.2 firmware that i downloaded, and jailbroke it with that too, i think it was pwnagetool. then unlocked it with blacksn0w, but restored again to get my contacts again. then the signal thing came back, was it mistake to restore my old backup again? should i redo the whole process without restoring the old backup ? well, that's what im doing right now so i'll let you guys know what goes on

still isnt working either way, does anyone have any ideas ? it happens to any other sims too. the signal comes and goes sometimes.
