Default Unlocking Iphone for T-mobile sim - HELP PLEASE

Info : 1st Gen Iphone (2G / silver metal back)

I have attempted over 50+ times to unlock my iphone to use with a T-Mobile sim card and still no luck.

I have tried with 3.0 firmware and also 3.1.2 firmware using both Blackra1n and Redsnow to jailbreak then Bootneuter / Ultrasn0w depending on firmware and version of the Iphone. Still no luck.

Here are the exact steps that I took in attempt to unlock the Iphone.

    1. Updated to 3.1.2 firmware using Itunes. Once done I closed Itunes while leaving the usb connected to my computer.
    2. Downloaded Blackra1n from blackra1n.com
    3. Ran Blackra1n and after reboot I went into the app Blackra1n and installed Cydia.
    4. After Cydia installed I opened it and was forced to install all the Essential Apps for Cydia.
    5. After that was done I searched for Bootneuter and installed and ran it.
    6. Iphone seem to lock up if i hit the home key to exit Bootneuter. This happened 3 times.
    7. After soft reset I opened Bootneuter again and after "determining settings" i hit "flash" and was told nothing is needed to be change and HOME key was able to used without theIphone freezing up.
    8. Iphone is jailbreaked but not unlocked for T-mobile use.

    Other method that I took..

Downloaded redsnow, correct firmware (iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore), bl39 and bl46 used to unlock Iphone using redsnow.

    1. Update Iphone to 3.0 firmware using Itunes. Closed Itunes while leaving usb connected.
    2. Opened redsnow and browse the correct restore firmware 3.0
    3. Then I was giving Cydia, Icy, & unlock for the 3 options. I chosed Cydia & Unlock then hit NEXT.
    4. Browsed the correct location for BL39 and BL46 and added in.
    5. Next page told me to make sure my iphone and itunes are off but usb still connected to the computer.
    6. Did what redsnow asked me to do by holding the sleep button for 3 seconds, sleep & home for 10 seconds then released the sleep button while keeping the home key pressed for 30 seconds. This started the ramdisk install.
    7. After reboot, I have Cydia installed.
    8. Downloaded and attempted using Bootneuter and Ultrasnow to unlock the Iphone and still no luck

At this point I still do not have my Iphone unlocked for T-mobile sim. Please any help is greatly appreciated as I dropped my phone a couple days ago and currently do not have a phone to use. This Iphone was passed down from a friend as he got a 3GS so this is my only phone right now. Thanks again for taking the time to read. Please show me the way!!

Be sure your selecting unlock in redsn0w... seems weird because when you redsnow unlock the phone, it will run bootneuter automatically once the jailbreak is done, before the phone boots up for the first time.

Try doing a clean restore to 3.0, and rerun redsn0w w/ cydia and unlock checked...

I thought when on 3.1.2 you jailbreak with blackra1n then run "snow" to unlock.

I'm a pwnage tool faithful. I've used blacksn0w once and had too many headaches with it. I recommend creating a custom firmware bundle w pwnage tool and installing it.

I have tried doing a restore to 3.0 and then running redsnow with cydia & unlock checked. still does not work. I've also done this for blackra1n and still no go.

I see a post on cydia saying if you upgrade to 3.1.2 without using pwnagetool, that theres a possibility that your iphone cannot be unlock at this time and maybe forever. is this true? what is pwnagetool anyway? isnt it only for mac?

try looking for a custom firmware if you do not have a mac. if you do then use pwnagetool and make a custom firmware. Don't worry about redsn0w and blackra1n since you can automatically jailbreak with the custom firmware you downloaded or made. if you have trouble finding custom firmwares try searching youtube the reliable ones have firmwares ready to dl. I have a first gen iphone on 3.1.2 on tmobile and have it working perfectly.

yeah pwnage tools is only for mac... you can try finding one online, like the guy above me said

Here are some tutorials... it doesn't make sense that only your phone wont accept the normal unlock methods

What settings did you use in BootNeuter? If you just launched it, didn't change any settings then hit flash, its gonna say "Nothing need to be changed" because you didn't specify any changes

I'd first try sticking an active AT&T SIM to see if it gets signal. If it does, then get a new SIM from T-Mobile and retry with that. I've had faulty SIM cards, and I've seen iPhone that couldn't read SIMs.

You might've messed it up if you restarted the phone during a flash, but thats worst case

BTW, you don't need a Mac to mod an iPhone. I'm not gonna start a huge Mac VS PC Thread right now..

yeah if you restarted the phone or something while bootneuter was doing its thing, you could have damaged your phone... But you say it's never gotten that far?

Give those two tutorials i posted earlier a read through... hopefully one of the methods work for you...

Worst case, just find a friend, or make a friend, with a mac and make yourself a custom ipsw with pwnagetools.
