Time to regain signal after elevator, basement etc...
Hello all,
I've noticed that it can take more than 5 minutes to regain signal after walking out of an elevator etc....is this normal?
Is this perhaps one of the bugs of still being on: iPhone 3GS
T-MOBILE
version 3.0 and 04.26.08 firmware.
Is it worth it to upgrade to 3.1.2 with the 05.11.07 firmware?
Anyone else experiencing similar issues with regaining signal after losing it?iPhone 3GS 32GB

I wouldn't say 5 minutes but I'd say it does take a while. But under a minute for sure. If you want it to load quicker then just get SBSettings and add the "Airplane mode" button to it. You'll be able to restart the "phone" function and your phone will search for a carrier.

I almost always do a 'airplane mode on/off' routine when I lose signal in elevators, heavy buildings, etc on both my 2G and 3G. To me doing this tends to work faster than letting the phone do the research on its own.
Another tactic I use at times is to go into settings and select Carrier and let the SIM search for other carriers, that tends to reset things sometimes (plus you can always check to see if you can get AT&T or other carrier's signals to work).Member of the hackint0sh forums.

Upgrade to the newest Baseband, and see if it helps.
