Iphone on Tmobile (I have free EDGE?)

I currently have the Iphone 2g on tmobile. I have never bought the data plan on it except once which was for one month back in the summer (I got the $9.99 internet for 5.99 asking I wanted to try it out for a month since they didnt have the 5.99 tzones internet) Anyway after configuring the network settings for it to work It worked. Then it ended one month later not working anymore.

Well after I had to send my phone into apple and getting a new refurbished one, I didnt have any of my files on it and I have had this phone since september. Well I never tried to go on the internet without wifi since I just assumed it wouldnt work. Well about 30 minutes ago I was browsing the web and I noticed my wifi dropped for some reason but it still loaded the page. Well I just assumed maybe it had already finished loading before it dropped so I decided to enter a web page that was not already cached into my phone, and it loaded but slower.

I then thought to myself "maybe the phone is bugged and I do have wifi it jsut isnt displaying the wifi symbol." So I go and disable the wifi on the phone, and the internet still works but the pages still loaded slower than wifi. So I restarted the phone just assuming my phone was bugged and wifi was still disabled and what do you know, the internet still works. I decided to go to whatismyip.com to look at the ip address, and it is not my home one. So im assuming I have free edge? Maybe I have had it all along I just never tried it. The only time I tried it was when it expired and I still had the networking settings it needed configured. I checked my tmobile bill online and nothing extra has been billed nor is the internet option added. I just checked my phone and My APN settings must of got added back when I restored my phone after getting a new one back from apple store.

I have the myfaves 800 plan w/ unlimited texting for all the lines. That is the only thing I have on my plan. Does anyone else have a iphone on tmobile that could try this out to see if im not the only one?

Just called up a rep, I asked on your data plans, do you have to pay up front for them or do you have a data plan were you pay per usuage or per mb. And he said they used to have the usage one a while back but it didnt work out for them so they removed it. So then I told the guy that I was thinking of purchasing my friends blackberry and I put my sim card in it and for some reason I was able to access the internet on it. I knew he was going to say something about the blackberry having wifi which he did and I stated that I even turned it off. I asked was I lucky that the internet works then? And he just said I guess so, and said we are not allowed to charge you for any services that you have not added on to your plan. I then even asked do I even have any extra charges yet on my bill besides my unlimited family texting option and he said no. And that was about it. I got his name also, but yeah according to two of the reps they do not have that service option anymore. I even browsed around on the internet and It seems like they dont have it.

I tried using the weather app, using the mail app, going to yahoo to check my email, checking numerous forums and a few websites that werent even in my cache.

lol Im not going to complain when they said I wont get charged for anything I didnt add and according to them and on my bill nothing is added.

Its worked after I restarted the phone. I deleted the apn to see what would happen and it just takes me to the subscribe to a data service. I put it back in and it works again.

You can go to mytmobile.com and monitor your data use. Hopefully they're not charging you per Kb - because then you're screwed.
