Does T-Zones still work?
I've heard otherwise, yet there's a local Craigslist ad, offering to transfer his contract. I'm currently an AT&T customer but would jump on this if it's true.
Can anyone verify if T-Zones is still iPhone friendly?
Thanks in advance.

I can confirm, as well. I have been using T-Zones since I got my first iPhone June 2008, and it works as well as my friend's AT&T edge. Just make sure you remember to install your carrier your appropriate carrier bundles in Cydia. (See my thread on MMS, SpookyET's carrier bundle thread, or the carrier bundles in Cydia/Rock.) Remember, if you have any trouble getting it to work, send me a PM. I'm always on here.

Quick answers! This is a nice forum. (Thanks to both)
I guess that leads me to a follow up question. Would it just be easier for me to start a new contract and purchase T-Zones with a "dummy/free" phone? Or is T-Zones only available to grandfathered accounts? (I hear a lot about Web2Go now)

Stick with us, kid. You'll go far

Sad as it is, T-Zones is no longer available to customers that have not signed up for it before November 2008 (yes, it was grandfathered). I know a little about the other cheap Internet plans because my sister had web2go for a few months on her iPhone. I believe you can get a $9.99 Internet plan, though I am not certain if it is unlimited or not. If it is not, it is likely around 100 MB, so unless you are a heavy user like me, you probably won't be charged anything extra. And even if you go over, I think I remember something along the lines of the most extra they can charge you is $15 extra.
I would honestly talk to a T-Mobile rep. Tell them you got an old T-Mobile-branded RAZR from a friend and are considering switching depending on the prices of their mobile Internet. Get some info from them, and either bring it back here or make your decision yourself. Make sure she doesn't try to sell you a smartphone Internet plan, though; they're expensive, and you can't use their 3G service anyway because of that stupid frequency issue. I can talk about T-Zones for days, but I'm not too sharp on the other plans. But what I can tell you is that I'm almost certain that no matter what you end up going with, it will almost indefinitely be compatible with iPhone.
Good luck!Last edited by n00neimp0rtant; 11-18-2009 at 04:52 PM.

The new $10 data plan for non-smartphones is unlimited (AKA web2go). Just don't tell T-mobile rep you have an iPhone, or call from it. Getting T-zones these days is out of your league since you're a brand new customer (unless you get it transferred over, which I'm not sure it works).

I just got upgraded to the new plans today and was required to switch to the new unlimited web. I was already paying the same amount but now I get unlimited minutes however my internet no longer works on my iPhone. Any suggestions on how to get it to work again?
****EDIT**** I found the solution to my problem. Thanks to this thread: T-Mobile Even More Plus $10 dataplan?Last edited by lex112; 11-20-2009 at 03:58 AM.

It's not a "plan" - it's a service add-on to a voice plan.
Unsupported Browser
Just call from a non-smartphone and request to add the $10 web2go service (as stated in the link above) to your plan.If I helped you out, please use the Thanks button ------------------------->

But regardless of what phone you use, Web2Go is Edge speed?

Any T-mobile data (web2go/smartphone) service on an iPhone will be Edge.
I said to call from another phone, because if you call from an iPhone they will see your IMEI and attempt to lock you in to the $35 smartphone service. After you add the $10 service, you can use it with the iPhone with no problems.Last edited by adp; 11-24-2009 at 12:00 PM.

Last question then...
Does Web2Go support use of iPhone email for unlimited send/receive?

I added T-Zones to my account in June 2009. That is not a typo, June 2009. There is no grandfather clause deal. It is still available but it is up to the customer service rep. If the rep you get won't activate it, politely hang up and try another rep. Keep doing this until you give up or you get a rep that will do it.
In my city, T-Mobile's Edge is so slow that it's hardly worth the $5.99 charge.
