Tmobile Internet
Hello, I have an Iphone 3g with 2.2.1 firmware and 2.3 modem with
tzones 5.99 and i try resetting and entering all the different APNs
and download the Tmobile carrier package on Cydia and resinstalling the sim into another non smartphone but still no internet...

is it true then that Tmobile network is able to track that i am using an Iphone and blocking the internet access because my internet package is not the right one for my phone???
do i need to upgrade to a pricey internet package???

No, epc.tmobile.com should work for you. Try enabling data roaming.
T-mobile knows you have an iPhone but I haven't heard of them blocking internet access. They did it once in August but retracted it after a few days. You should be able to keep the 5.99 plan.
BTW - Why the hell are you still on 2.2.1?If I helped you out, please use the Thanks button ------------------------->

They've blocked people off that are on record as having an iPhone. They did that recently.

Well I've had web2go for almost a year now and they haven't done anything. I guess we'll see (unless they're only doing it to T-zones users). Try switching to a non-smartphone and see if GPRS works with it.

No it's gotta be something with your phone if GPRS works on a dumbphone. Have you thought about upgrading your firmware? Maybe re-jailbreaking does it. Worst comes the worst, you can switch to the $10 plan, it's not that much higher and you don't have to worry about being tracked under T-Zones. T-Mobile knows you have an iPhone because it register your IMEI to the tower. If you could post screenshots of your data settings that may help.

A rep can notate your account (That's what happened prior). You'll have to troubleshoot with a regular phone. You didn't confirm, have you tried internet2 or epc?

As long as you inform T-mobile that you're using the iPhone and get a smartphone data plan you're good on their network. While it's true that there are notations on your account if you use a phone that's not sold in their stores a quick call to a customer service center will confirm that they aren't penalizing iphone users for using them as a carrier.

Well let me see if I can be more clear..
They're trying to use T-Zones or Unlimited Data for Other phones on their iPhone. Not the Smartphone package that would never have this problem. It's $10 more and people are just that cheap.

A FEW bucks? For many of us there's a difference between $5.99/month and $34.99/month (or whatever the new rate is). Both for the same data speed. If you have enough money to not care about paying $400 more per year, then you should probably be on AT&T getting 3G and letting them steal $100/month out of your wallet for an overpriced service.

Hello again, i try epc, internet2 and everything else...but i cant get internet access via tzones 5.99....
If I sign up for the $10 Web2Go service can i get internet???
Or do i have to sign up for the "other smartphone data plans" and which specific one works???
Thanks everybody for any input!
Hello, just to be sure, your $10 web2go plan is a smartphone plan or "other phone data plan"??? Thanks for your time!Last edited by maksautobodyshop; 11-14-2009 at 11:30 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Yes, you can. I just shut down my 34.99 plan and switched to the $10 and it's been beautiful since..not as fast but i'm not watching youtube videos on my phone which you can still but just not as fast and smooth.
The only issue with getting it is that it some how throws off your mms capabilities which i'm trying to get help on right now.the fastest growing online movie streaming community
