Any benefit to leaving 3G enabled for Edge users?
Just as the thread title asks... is there any benefit to keeping 3G enabled under the Network section of the Settings menu if T-Mobile customers are limited to the Edge network? I haven't noticed any difference on my end, but was wanting to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
Also, just out of curiosity, what's the purpose of the Data Roaming setting? What does it do exactly?
Thanks!

If you enable 3G you won't ever pick up service... in order for the unlock to work you have to turn 3G off for use on T-Mobile.

Interesting. I was able to use T-Mobile talk and data with 3G turned on. This was with the Blackra1n/Blacksn0w unlock. Granted my service was pretty horrible at home, but I figured that was because of the lack of T-Mobile towers in my area, in town things looked good. Thanks for the input though, I'm going to keep it turned off in hopes that maybe local service will be improved. Thank you!

The hardware wont work with t mobile so you will only get edge, And as for keeping 3G enabled you will just kill your battery faster for no gain or reason

I noticed that I got slightly better reception with it on, but if I lost the signal it would search for 3G way too long before it decided to fall back to EDGE.

Lovely
