Default Trouble jailbreaking iPhone 2G for T-Mobile Please Help

I need to unlock and jailbreak my old iphone 2g that I sold online so I can ship it to the buyer. I have been trying to jailbreak it with both the 3.0 and the 3.1 fw. I am using the correct pwnage tool for each respective firmware. I have tried both simple and expert modes for both and I followed the guides on how to do this perfectly even though I have done jailbreaks several times before. Every time I do this I get an error message after selecting the custom fw. I do not have an AT&T sim card only a T-Mobile. Could this be the problem? Please help I appreciate any advice you can give me.

You need to specify what JB tools you used what OS you are on what baseband you are on and your itunes version and so forth. And no the SIM doesn't matter.

The error message says"The iphone 'iphone' could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1600)."

I have itunes 9.0.1 and pwnage tool 3.0 for the 3.0fw and pwnage tool 3.1.4 for 3.1 firmware. Im not sure what baseband. How do I check that?

    How do you do blackra1n?

Give it some time before anyone replies. Creating multiple threads on the same topic is annoying and it might be against the rules

I actually have read the post on blackra1n before but I figured it wouldn't work since it says, "This means that if you are not on an official Apple approved carrier BlackRa1n cannot activate it."

I have T-mobile will it work? I have 3.0fw installed now I'd have to upgrade to 3.1.2 before using blackra1n, correct?

Yes just upgrade then download blackra1n for the appropriate OS you have and follow the guides.

Blackra1n the phone, then it will give you the option for blacksn0w (unlock).

Oh wait a second, I'm tripping out here LOL.. the iPhone 2G should be permanently unlocked.. blacksn0w is for the 3G/3G S. You can still use blackra1n but your iPhone should be already unlocked.

Ok. I read up on it.. jailbreak with Blackra1n, and you should be able to unlock with BootNeuter.

    Yes.. unlock it with Bootneuter.

Could you share a link for where you have done your reading? I haven't used bootNeter before so I will probably need some instructions to follow. Thanks again
