Whats latest update that still can be unlocked? 3.0?
i have to go to the apple store tmm to hopefully get a new phone mine isnt working, i have a 3gs on 3.0, my only concern what if they give me a new one already updated?
whats the newest version that can still be unlocked thanks?No signature spam or links... Thanks

The newest firmware, 3.1.2, can be unlocked but only if your bootloader version is 5.08, which is pretty rare. Mines had it though.

its not the OS firmware that holds the unlocking so to say.... its the modem firmware..... as of rite now only 4.26.08 can be unlocked.... in a couple day the 5.11.07 will be unlock per blacksnow....

Just wait for blacksn0w. If you start seeing very happy people on these forums by November 4 you'll know the new unlock is successful. Then you will have no fear of them giving you a newly updated iPhone

Wow that's weird. Can you share how you got baseband 5.11.07 to work on Tmobile? Bootloader is rather irrelevant information in regards to unlocking. Did you downgrade your basband? Like me you have BL 5.08 which makes it downgradable (oh lucky me!) but yeah, I am very intersted in knowing how you got that baseband unlocked. Is it an American iPhone? If it's factory unlocked of course it will work regardless of modem forward version... I'm just very curious.

Anniex423, if you have bootloader version 5.08 you can downgrade your baseband to 04.26.08 with fuzzyband thru cydia. It will check your bootload version and tells you if you are able to downgrade or not.

I know, thanks. I was just saying you made it seem like you are running an unlocked 5.11.07 when really you downgraded the baseband because of BL 5.08. I'm fully aware I have a lucky downgradable phone. I just thought you miraculously came by an unlock that ran on 5.11.07 and was curious to know if it was true or just a fluke.
