Switching to T-Mobile, a few questions
First off, what I currently have:
iPhone 3G
Firmware 2.2.1 (5H11)
Jailbroken, but not yet unlocked.
Don't know baseband
From what I've read, I cannot upgrade to 3.1.2 and have it unlocked, is this correct?
What is the latest iPhone firmware I can upgrade to, with working unlock and jailbreak? Will this have working push notifications and MMS?
Sorry if this is a lot of stuff to ask at once, I haven't kept up with the scene for a while. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

I know you can jailbreak and unlock on 3.0 firmware for all phones.
I think the only way to have an unlocked 3.1.2 3g is to use custom firmware.
I suggest upgrade to 3.0 to keep your contacts and such, use redsn0w 0.8 to jailbreak and from cydia, use ultrasn0w to unlock.

don't hacktivate, restore to 3.0, then activate with a AT&T sim, then jailbreak + Unlock...
if you don't, your push won't work...The only thing I ask in return for helping, is that you click the thanks button, Thanks!

If I need my AT&T sim card to activate, I'm glad I haven't canceled my AT&T service yet (waiting until Monday when my T-Mobile phone/simcard arrives). So then, after I upgrade to 3.0, I use redsn0w and then ultrasn0w and all is fine and dandy?
This'll be great, thanks!
edit: How do I determine which carrier bundle I need, the legacy or the regular?Last edited by Covarr; 10-18-2009 at 08:10 PM.
