no it is not possible. The iphone's 3g antenna is set to operate only on the 3G frequency which AT&T uses, which is different frequency that t-mobile operates on

so it's no way to change the freq of the 3g, if we can unlock these phones their has to be a way to change it to work.

I think the frequency is different for at&t 3G vs. t-mobile 3G... but nevertheless edge works perfectly fine and it's only $20 for unlimited txt and mobile web =D

really? I have a family plan but just on my line I have web2go which use to be $9.99 for 50 MB of web browsing and 200 txt messages but apparently they stopped the 9.99 plan and bumped it to unlimited data and unlimited txt for $19.99. You should call them and ask them. They asked me what type of phone I had and I just told them I had a bs flip phone. I'm located in Madison where i'm constantly roaming so they never know what phone i'm using.

OP, the iPhone 3G bands (or frequencies) are not compatible with the T-Mobile US 3G network. The only way to change this would be to open up the phone and install a different 3G radio. I do not have any idea how to do this and I'm guessing you don't either.

Realistically, there is no way to do it. You could, in theory, do it but there's also a large likelihood your phone would end up a useless metal, glass and plastic brick.

I had actually looked into doing this, but I couldn't solder at 88mph.. too bumpy, waiting for my upgraded jet tires to come in so I can just fly it at that speed.
    Don't forget to say THANKS!
