quick question
my friend has a 2g iphone that was unlocked and he thought it got updated to 3.1 but when his sim card is in it it stays on the connect to itunes screen but he can still get calls and text like it is jailbroken but not unlocked and even when a at&t sim card is in it it still does that so if i run it through redsnow could that maybe fix it

yeah if its on 3.0.1, run it through redsn0w,
If its on 3.1 or higher, run pwnage tools, or download a custom .ipsw
you cannot activate the phone with a AT&T card? My sisters old phone did the same thing, she accidentally upgraded to 3.1, and she was still able to receive calls and stuff. Turned out when we used my AT&T sim to activate, she had a fully unlocked 2g, but it wasn't jailbroken.... pretty sweet if you ask me...The only thing I ask in return for helping, is that you click the thanks button, Thanks!
