    Default MMS on 3.1

Has anyone gotten MMS working on 2G 3.1 yet? I didn't know I would lose it by upgrading!

Right out of my tools here @ tmobile

To Setup the Picture Messaging (MMS):

    Go to the Main screen.
    Tap Settings.
    Tap General.
    Tap Network.
    Tap Cellular Data Network.
Enter the following information under the MMS section.
For the APN field enter wap.voicestream.com
    Leave the Username field blank.
    Leave the Password field blank.
For the MMSC field enter 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
For the MMS Proxy field enter 216.155.165.50:8080
Leave the MMS Max Message Size field blank.
Leave the MMS UA Prof URL field blank.
Press the Home button to return to the Main Menu.
    Power cycle the handset.
    Test MMS functionality.
NOTE: The handset must be power cycled following MMS configuration. Until the handset is power cycled, the user will not see an option to send an MMS.

If the above settings are unsuccessful, alternate settings are as follows:

Follow the above to step 6.
Enter epc.tmobile.com into the APN field.
    Leave the Username field blank.
    Leave the Password field blank.
For the MMSC field enter mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Leave the MMS Proxy field blank
Leave the MMS Max Message Size field blank.
Leave the MMS UA Prof URL field blank.
Press the Home button to return to the Main Menu.
    Test MMS functionality.

There's no option for MMS settings in 3.1 on my 2G. Knew I shouldve stayed put on 3.0 Anyone know how to resolve this? FML

By entering the settings by hand I'm 99.9% positive though that you won't get high quality pictures. Try zooming on a picture, see how it's pixelated? With 3.0.1 firmware I could install the T-mobile settings from Cydia and I was getting high quality pics, I don't know if it will still work.

It's not rare at all for 2g iPhones to not have the MMS options on 3.0 and 3.1; as it says in the update that the 2g iphones are not designed to "mms" and that it is only implied for 3g iphones. However, there is an App in Cydia called 'Enable MMS 2g' which once installed will open up the MMS options in the Cellular Data Network.

I've been using mms on my iphone 3GS and iphone 3G since 3.0 and 3.01 . I've always had the blurry low quality pictures. Is there a way to enable the higher quality mms pictures?

Go to Cydia and install the following from ModMyI.com Tweaks:
T-Mobile US - Postpaid/Flexpaid if you have the $5.99 data plan
T-Mobile US - Postpaid/Flexpaid Legacy if you have the $9.99 data plan

Reboot the phone post installation. You may need to reset the network settings too. More details here: http://modmyi.com/forums/t-mobile/65...er-bundle.html

From my personal experience, this works perfectly for iPhone 3G and 3GS on 3.0/3.0.1.

Cant seem to find that 'Enable MMS 2g' in Cydia or the one I was using on 3.0 prior to upgrading which was 'ACTIVATEMMS2G'. This stinks!

The first settings worked for me.

What was screwing me up was I had epc.tmobile.com in the Cellular Data field. I removed it so I only had the MMS field filled in. Restarted and I was able to send MMS.

    Thanks

Maybe you could use some of your inside information and help us with sorting out visual voicemail.
