so i just got me a iphone 3g already jailbroken and stuff but i want to put my contacts and stuff in there is there anyway without reinstall the firmware ?
ok its sync contacts and all that was sweet and guess what i just notice its not jailbroken or unlocked now here is where im scared after all these years of messing with iphone i need to reinstall firmware and jailbreak with redsnow but im scared because my 2g got bricked for good or fucket in some way i cant install anything i need to know if ill have problems with this 3g i dont have 9.1 itunes because i heard its giving problems so i have the one before that i beleave 8.6.2
because ive seen on 3.0 there is a new baseband problems something like once u jailbreak and unlock it u might not be able to do it again ?
ok i jailbreak how do i unlock it for tmobile ? i got cydia installed

If you use iTunes 8.2 or 8.2.1 you'll be fine being that it's a 2g phone you'll have no problem jailbreaking it and unlocking also.
Use redsn0w 0.8 and make sure you also have the 2 bootloader files for the unlock.
Opps, saw that you already ran the jailbreak, did you use the 2 bootloaders?

one more thing i just did that restore and just now noticed that google bookmarks and all email and call log is there but notice my contacts are not there ?
Because you didn't use Outlook or Windows Address Book or something like that I guess they were not stored when you had synced. Not sure there is much you can do really, Sorry. As you can see some data was restored but with calenders and contacts you have to tell iTunes where and what you wish to store.
dude im not sure in anyone know about iPhoneBackupExtractor but it saved my life the backup was currupted and all messt up but this app takes the file and decodes it so u can read it i had to put it all in 1 by 1 but better than loseing it all right if u want it let me know its a good it to have incase **** like this happens
