Problem - iPhone 2G Not booting FW 3.1 - MMS Install

It's currently not booting after trying to install MMS.

I began with one of the tutorials on here, one of them said they were able to get MMS working after installing "Activatemms2G" from Cydia. I did so and it asked to reboot, hit reboot and nothing happend. Foolishly I just powered it down like normal and turned it back on, It now sits with the bitten pineapple, after about 5 minutes it turns off and reboots doing this in a loop.

Any thoughts or anything to point me in the right direction?

Sure fix is to put it in DFU mode, restore and re-jailbreak.

It did the same thing to me I downgraded back to 3.0 it took me forever to get it to let me restore and when it finally did when I selecetd the 3.0 firmware and it did its thing and it was time to either set up new iphone or restore from itunes backup I restored from the last itunes backup with 3.0 and it took it 5 hours to restore it. So it may take a while when you do it.

Wow rn7833, 5 hours?

I just did mine and created a custom ipsw in about an hour and restored it twice.

I'm currently following these directions to get MMS working on this 2G here:

MMS on iPhone 2g with OS 3.0

Does anyone with a 2G on firmware 3.1 have any guidance as to which instructions I should follow? It appears that there are a couple.

ActivateMMSG2 will simply not work as many other "patch" based mods. Simply because the "frameworks" binaries are not where they were before

just get swirlymms i mean it works great idk about 3.1 though still on 3.0

yeah and for the price it's really not bad. although you don't get to see the picture like in the standard apple mms it still gets the job done, also it does work with 3.1 with the latest update.
