can Tmobile use 3g network on 3G iphone?
I am using a jailbroke/unlocked 3g iphone on 3.1.
Everything works great and Im using $19.99 unlimited data plan.
I heard that new mytouch from T-mobile has 3G features so I am wondering if I can get that 3G om my iphone with T-mobile.
The edge Im using is way too slow. Does Anyone have any ideas?

From all the research I've done on this topic so far I have to say it is impossible. ATT uses a different band for 3g than tmobile does, meaning the iphone is not made to work on tmobile's network. What sucks is that this wouldn't be an issue if we lived in Europe. Oh well, if you want 3g on tmobile go with the MyTouch, otherwise learn to be happy with your EDGE, and attempt to ensure there is wifi everywhere you go!

^ yes you can only use T-Mobile's 3G with T-Mobile phones. And no I wouldn't recommend going to the MyTouch. I tested my 3G's Edge speed to the MyTouch on 3G speed and my iPhone smoked it. Sad thing is, I'm not using a 3GS either.

I've been quite satisfied with my edge data. I did a mobile speed test with my iPhone on edge against my buddys palm pre on 3g. I smoked him. 3g is overrated I guess

T-mobile in the US uses a different frequency that the iPhone can't support.
T-mobile's EDGE isn't that slow actually. I'm perfectly content with it.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

And if you have a 3G then you use ultrasn0w to unlock in which case enabling 3G will cause your unlock to become inactive

seriously? I use internet2.voicestream.com for APN and it seems really slow... especially when downloading some apps from **********.. the highest speed I ever had was 25.00kb in istallous. Is it normal or is there any way to increase the speed? thanks

The baseband is preserved with Pwnagetool so the firmware can be updated without affecting the unlock.
