Internet slowage using 19.99 "Total Internet" package on 2G iPhone

I've been browsing the forums here and have seen that many others have been encountering issues when attempting to access the internet on the iPhone 2G.

Over the last couple days I have had some troubles as well. The "E" near my T-Mobile label drops randomly. Also, although I am still able to access the internet through "internet2.voicestream.com," there is a significant decrease in speed in comparison to the past year I have been using the internet on my iPhone.

I am just curious if anyone has any information about this, or if anyone has a fix to the slow-down.

Do I need to switch to a different internet option, or is there some package I need to download through Cydia?

Try: wap.voicestream.com

That's what I use and i'm on Tmobile 19.99 2G.

Using wap.voicestream.com yields the same result.

Should I try installing the T-Mobile carrier bundle through Cydia?

I use epc.tmobile.com for my 2g and it works fine; I dont know what kind of speeds you are looking for but mine does the job.

I would surf more, but the connection has become so weak it is kind of frustrating to use..

I got a question how come wap.voicestream works for you guys?

for the 19.99 dollar plan only internet2.voicestream.com works for me

am i missing something or suppose to install something for the other apns to work?

actually I'm using epc.tmobile.com
but when I had web 2 go before I installed the carrier bundle
I had to use internet2.voicestream.com
but wap.voicestream.com works for me too
Try resetting the network settings then the phone

if you feel that your internet has slowed since you first got the iphone on tmobile. it might be due to the fact that tmo has been releasing data intensive phones and its staring to clog their network. just my .02 cents!

So right now you are on Web2Go and u can use epc and/or wap?
If so please tell me what Carrier Bundle u installed because I can only use internet2 and
obviously would like the option to use another APN just in case.

if you use the www.sinfuliphone.com/repo/ repo it has a setup for MMS and tethering and it doesn't hide the Cellular Data Network menu. Of course you have to have data roaming on with this setup but it's nothing serious.

I installed this but it didn't work for MMS so I deleted it. I didn't know or try to change my APN while it was installed. I swore it deleted the option to change the APN but I'll try it again but before I do I just want to make sure that your saying once this is installed then web2go will work using epc and/or wap and not just internet2 ? Just curious because u were the one who told me to use internet2 and it was a good call cause none of the other APNS worked for me.

I'm no longer on the carrier bundle since I switched to tzones. I was referring to when I was on web2go in the carrier bundle thread there is a listing on how to mod the program so you can change apn's when I had to remove the bundle after the tzones switch I just decided to try thr epc apn since it worked I ran with it
