Web2Go + 3G + 3.0 = NO Location Services/Maps ??
I recently switched from my 2G to a 3G but might need to switch back. I have Location Services ON. My Internet is working fine but any app that trys to determine my location can't and when I open Maps it can not determine my location either.
Only way either works is over WiFi. Anyone know if or how I can fix this? Is it aknown issue or am I the only one having issues?
Any info would be appreciated! Thanx!
EDIT: Seems if I have WiFi On even if I'm not connected then both Maps and Location can be determined. I prefer to keep wifi off so now I need to toggle it on whenever I use certain apps or need to use Maps. Smh. Hope this isn't what I have to look forward to with 3.0. I held out cause I wasn't looking forward toall the little headaches.Last edited by RDL; 08-20-2009 at 07:52 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

It's very possible the GPS unit in the 3G couldn't communicate with the GPS satellites. I find that the GPS strength is weakened by cloud cover, and movement (I find GPS is more exact in the car than when I'm standin' in my room). I also found that when I went up north in the white mountains(3-5 bars, no 3G) I couldn't use my GPS capabilities at all.

Thanks for the feedback but I popped out my SIM and I was in the exact same location and my location services worked fine on my 2G 2.2 so I can only assume it has something to do with 3.0. and/or redsn0w and/or ultrasn0w.

It has nothing to do with ultrasnow. You have a bad GPS signal... The wifi will give you a position no matter what, but it's not GPS. Go outside near a road, and wait for it to locate you. You need full bars and your internet has to be working.

Do it again. Make sure the wifi is off, and that both have data enabled or disabled.
