Default Best Tmobile plan for $30-$40 a month?

Hello all. I have a 2g iPhone. I was doing the promo unlimited sim for $30 a month thing that was on ebay. Well those have all dried up it seems. Looks like I have to go legit.

One I do not want to be tied to a contract. I really just need basic minutes, text, data etc. An unlimited night thing would be nice. Any ideas?

I know this is "noobish". Yet there is sooo many plans on tmobile, and you guys may know some plan rates not so publicly known.

    Thank you in advance!
    Brad

A rate plan is tailored to the user. My $40 rate plan might be great for my usage but you may run up a $75 bill b/c you have different features. You won't get a good answer to your question. The best thing to do is read your bill and see how man mins you use at what time of the day... if you call the same people a lot (fave 5)... and how much data and text you use. THEN pick a plan that's right for YOU.

Controlled on your online t-mobile account page. You would have to go to T-Mobile and register your phone nuber and set up a password and all that... then you can change account features.

you only need the 9.99 data plan, then everything else is up to you.

but then again if you on a budget, maybe you don't NEED the internet on your phone everywhere you go. saving those 10 bucks out of 40 is a huge difference.
The only thing I ask in return for helping, is that you click the thanks button, Thanks!

I guess im not liking the costs. It starts at $30 just to get in bed with tmobile, not to count at least $8-$9 in taxes, charges, etc. Thank u all for your input.

Sounds like you are looking to go cheap. Here is what I do. May not work for you but others may benefit.

    T-Mobile Pay-As-You-Go Plan $100 for 1,000 minutes as needed

I purchase 1,000 minutes at one time. Minutes are good for one full year. If you refill before the 1,000 minutes expire, they roll over for another full year. I get Phone, Voicemail, Texting, MMS. You get dinged about 10 cents for each call and text. No Edge/Internet with this plan. For my internet, I use Wifi only. I have Wifi at home and at work. Other times, I just look for free wifi where I can find it.

    Skype $30
For $30 a year, I can make unlimited calls over wifi to any cell phone or land line in the US. I try to make most of my outgoing calls with Skype, thus saving/extending my T-Mobile minutes.

    Google Voice FREE
When I am on wifi, I use Google Voice to send and receive texts for free, thus saving/extending my T-Mobile minutes

So for about $130 a year, I have a pretty cheap plan going. This works for me because I am not a heavy phone talker/user so my minutes last a long time. And with Skype and Google Voice, those minutes can last even longer. Since I have Wifi all day at work and at home, I do not have a strong need for Edge.

You can even forgo the Skype route and use Gizmo5 (which works well with Google Voice, and even allows for free unlimited incoming and outgoing if you set it up right) with Fring or Nimbuzz, saving another $30/year?

    tinfoil:
For EDGE/GPRS data access you're stuck with FlexPay or postpaid options, which means you'll be paying at least $40/month plus taxes. There's no T-Mobile prepaid plan that has data easily usable on the iPhone now.
