Iphone 2g Tethered with T-mobile cant connect to any msging service

I have an iPhone 2G jailbroken and unlocked on the t-mobile network. I have PDANET installed (registered version) and before the trial period expired I flawlessly had a peer to peer connection on my macbook pro and could surf and connect to yahoo messenger with no problem. Well the trial period expired so i bought the license key and now it connects and i can surf the net but it seems much slower and none of my chat messengers work, yahoo, google, msn, adium. Nothing none of them will connect and it seems to surf a bit slower. Anybody have any ideas as to why my messengers wont work? Thanks in advance.
