skype over edge

Hi everyone
ok my question is this, when I have tried to use
skype over the edge network on T-mobile
I always get the (not connected) error message.
Is this a TM problem, or am I missing a setting?
I have voipover3g, and substright? installed.
followed all the instructions to the letter.

Just tried it over EDGE and it was working.

there are so many different solutions floating
around..

To the other two replies, thank you, but in 2 cases you
are wrong, in a skype to skype call you are using the
wi fi network no credits needed, in the 3govervoip
the software is fooling the networking thinking its using
wi fi. Its my understanding that credits are only needed
when making a skype call to a none skype number\person.
ie: land line.

I use this with web2go however you should be able to use this with any Smartphone plan.

And you're right, Skype to Skype calls are free.

i tested it right now on tzones using epc.tmobile.com

works great. gonna install it on my gf's iphone now and do skype to skype calls n save some minutes lol. awesome

Both of you have to have really good service in order for the call to be even "acceptable" over EDGE.

i did the voice test and it came back sounding perfect? i'll test it out later n report back.

if its that bad then whatever. but its worth a shot.

I'm in SoCal, and have very good Edge on Tmobile
I know it would be slower then 3g.
Also why do you think others are connecting
on the (epc) apn?

epc is really just for T-Zones. Internet2 should be used with web2go and the smartphone plans.

If it still doesn't work, reset your network settings.

Also.. Skype over EDGE is OK, but only if you have 4-5 bars and the voice quality still isn't that good.

Well I am on a pre paid Tmobile plan, $100, 1000, min
should I still be able to use skype over edge, yes
I hear how slow edge is.
I have done the network reset, hope we don't have to
do that all the time.
using your new APN, it did not work. still get
your not connected to network.
I get a good edge signal here.
its funny but sitting next to my MacBook, which I
get a wifi signal, but on my iphone 3g 3.0
It says can't fine network...
