Where did you get your certs from? If you are using the ones off the internet it won't work for long if at all. If you have a jailbroken ipod tuoch, you can get the certs off of it. That's what I did and it works great for me on TMobile. Also can get the certs from any jailbroken ATT phone if someone will let you use them.

The best solution for a 2g iPhone is to use unique certification with the push fix (ssh version).

You can obtain these certs from legit iPhone users or even itouch 2g users.

I am using certs ripped from an itouch and the set up works beautifully.

@mast3rmatt, since redsn0w can be done after activation, I suspect nothing. However if I understand correctly the iPhone 2g will need reactivation after a sim swap but don't quote me on that.

The best way get push working is to restore your iphone to a non-jailbroken 3.0 and pop in a AT&T sim card (doesn't matter if it has service on it or not) and activate it with itunes

IF you jailbreak with Pwnage Tool MAKE SURE YOU UNCHECK "ACTIVATE THIS PHONE" IN GENERAL then click build and wait and restore with itunes and activate it again still with the ATT sim card.. then download ultrasnow and unlock your iphone if its needed

If you use redsnow make sure your ATT sim card is in the phone while jailbreaking and your done..

thats what i did and so far i always got push for AIM(PAID) BeeJive, IM+ 3.0, Boxcar and others
Current Using: iPhone 3G 16GB White
    Firmware: 3.0
    Jailbreak: Pwnage Tool

@LosoLx: yes, that is the best way for 3g and 3gs users but NOT an option for 2g users.
