Which Data plan are you on and should I switch?
I am on the BlackBerry Unlimited Add-on plan for $19.99 a month. it has been great. However I can not seem to get any of the T-Mobile bundles to work with my service. I can MMS but that's it. No VVM settings or tethering settings. I dont want to miss out on the fun stuff
I am on a 3G with 3.0
suggestions appreciated.Last edited by beav626; 07-26-2009 at 08:51 PM.

ok.. there is no vvm yet for t-mobile or "settings" for tethering, you can surf thru the forums and find out how to tether in a guide that's probably around on this site and i don't have a plan i have unlimited text messaging and data plan for like $60 a month i didn't bother signing up for a "plan"

I use the smartphone plan, same cost as the BB plan, I've used tethering with this plan, worked fine.. no add'l charges on my bill...

I'm on the Blackberry Unltd Addon $19.99 as well. My Internet, MMS and tethering work perfectly! I've been on this for over a year now with no problems.
One of my co-workers has the $19.99 web2go (I think it's called) and her MMS, Internet and tethering work fine too. She's been on it for close to a year.
We're both on 3G phones. I'm on a 16 black she's got the 8.

Ok you have a 3G so.. you should be able to tether. I think it's a problem with how the package installs, resetting network settings, trying to uninstall and reinstall the carrier settings package should eventually get Tethering to come on.
I had this problem, trying to work it around by resetting and reinstalling.

Log onto My T-Mobile.com, change your phone to a Sony Ericsson TM506, then go under services and unselect whatever plan you have now and select the Web2Go plan.

I got this message when I tried to change
We’re sorry, but we're not currently able to complete your request online. If you have questions, or if you’d like to change your plan or services, please call Customer Care at 1-877-453-1304 or dial 611 on your T-Mobile phone.

Weird!
Are you on FlexPay or Postpaid?
Try calling them about you having a new phone and wanting to change your data plan... they'll usually ask for the IMEI of the new phone but if they do just tell them you don't have the phone in front of you or call back and get a new rep. Or get the IMEI of a T-Mobile phone that isn't a smartphone.

I changed my data plan more than 5 times in July, only once did they not ask for an IMEI.

I put the carrier bundle in and all seems to be good now. They did ask for the new IMEI# and I told them I did not have it yet. They switched it anyways.
Saving me $10 a month is awesome...Thank you

The thing of it is girrrrl I think it depends on what people are saying when they call.
I just call in and usually and say I'm looking for xyz what do you have that will cover that a friend of mine said he uses something called "whatever or some such thing" so can ya help me out here
Then they make suggestions and I say what's the cheapest b/c quite frankly I'm just looking for the most cost effective way to accomplish my goal
Beav you 're welcome as previously posted I love that I'm saving from 30 bucks basicallyLast edited by MREY; 08-03-2009 at 05:40 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
