07-11-2009, 02:59 AM #1iphone not working with 9.99 t-mobile plan
new iphone user/owner as of 2 days ago
anyways i got my iphone 2g hacked and updated with 3.0 and newest jailbreaking software
i signed up for the 9.99 t-mobile data plan earlier today
and ive used all 3 of the apn's from epc-wap
i have roaming turned on as well
when i use epc it says my phone is not compatible with the plan and when i use any of the other APN's I get sent to the dreaded wipco site
i am located in vancouver wa if that matters
i have been reading up on some of the threads but none of them still work, am i missing anything?

i thought it was "internet2.voicestream.com" for wep2go and few resets to the phone?

I have the $5.99 T-Zones and I haven't encountered any problems.
I'm in Seattle

With web2go you need to use internet2.voicestream.com as others mentioned.

As stated by others in WA with web2go internet2.voicestream.com is redirecting to wipcore.tmobile.com and other two apns still ask for account upgrade. T-Mobile is checking the imei of the phone, tzones seem to be uneffected. Since your on a 2G your option to get it working would be changing your imei to a web2go phone imei with custom firmware. The info how to do so is on this site, it works and you would then be able to use any apn but do so at your own risk.

I gave them an IMEI for a TM506.
07-11-2009, 03:38 PM #8How can I change the IMEI of the phone
In response to your post about a custom firmware that changes the IMEI is a web2go compatible IMEI, can you point me to where it is?
I am in WA state as well and as of 3 hours ago I get the redirect treatment...

For the firmware and instructions http://homeofmagic.blogspot.com/
But basically you have to (remember 2G phones only does not work on 3G):
-install itunes 7.5 Old Version of iTunes Download
-downgrade (shift-restore) to 1.1.4 FW iclarified iPhone Firmware Files (it will error at end thats ok because BL does not match)
-install ziphone ZiPhone Download Server
-downgrade(erase) baseband/bl to BL3.9
-shift-restore again to 1.1.4 FW (should now give no errors)
-jailbreak, unlock, and hacktivate phone in ziphone (remember you have to put you phone in recovery mode before doing this)
-under the other options change your IMEI to a web2go phone imei (again must be in recovery mode)
-reinstall itunes 8.2
-shift-restore using custom 3.0 firmware of your choice from his website
I say at your own risk as this may not be legal where you are located, and it is quite a process so just use caution.

I don't know, I own the phone. The most they could do is cut you off
07-11-2009, 04:48 PM #123g won't work?
I have an iPhone 3G NOT 3G 'S', so this process to change IMEI will not work?
I am ready mixed opinions on different sites that a turbosim actually masks the IMEI and assuming would fix this problem. Can anyone confirm that? Does anyone have a turbosim that they can try and report back on? Of course it would need to be someone with the same problem I have which is the redirection to the tmo site when using the web2go plan on internet2.voicestream.com

I had already told them that IMEI because that was what my old phone was using.

07-15-2009, 12:49 AM #20You made it work with the 9.99 web2go plan?
Hi Westcoast, just to clarify:
- You have the 9.99 web2go plan?
- You encountered the redirect problem?
- You cleared the cache on Safari and rebooted and it worked?
So you did not actually change your IMEI?
