Problem with losing service with 3.0

I just unlocked a 3g, and a 2g for some buddies with redsn0w and 3.0 and they both complained of their phones losing service and then the service will come back with full bars.

Any ideas?

Mine does this too, usually accompanied by a quick "No Sim Card installed" pop up.

As far as I can tell, it is just a by product of UltraSn0w, and cannot be helped. They may fix it in an update down the road.

I read getting a newer SIM card can help, however I got one yesterday and am still seeing it for a second after rebooting my phone.
