which bundle is the right one??
I'm on a Family $59.99/month plan with T-Zones (APN epc.tmobile.com). I have a couple of questions:
1) Which bundle should I use if I want tethering (I'm not particularly interested in MMS)?
2) Is there a bundle that uses epc.tmobile.com as the APN for data? epc.tmobile.com is better than the WAP APN -- higher speed and lower latency
3) If something goes wrong, is it easy to remove the bundle and return to the initial state without doing a restore? If so, how?
Many thanks in advance!

I would think the first one would do it for a cause those are all the settings I'm currently using and I have no problems at all.
The bundle was waaay easy to remove but it took a few reboots to get it started on one of my phones but like I said removal was a snap I removed it because I had just changed internet plans & didn't know if I had to change the bundle I was using I figured it would be quicker to remove and change apn then add it again later, I didn't have to a restore on either iPhone go to the first page in this thread Tmobile Postpaid/Flexpaid seems to be what you're looking for.
Previous Bundle I used
APN: internet2.voicestream.com
MMS: wap.voicestream.com
GroupModeEnabled: FALSE
MMSC: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MaxMessageSize: 1048576
MaxVideoBitrate: 131072
MaxRecipients: 10
Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
UAProf: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
UserAgent: SonyEricssonW800i/R1L
Version: 1.2
First Bundle which Mirrors my current Tzones setup
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MMS: wap.voicestream.com
GroupModeEnabled: FALSE
MMSC: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MaxMessageSize: 1048576
MaxVideoBitrate: 131072

UAProf: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

Hope that helps somewhat

I am still using the sidekick plan over my VPN. Can the sidekick bundle be used with my config? I have to connect to the VPN before using the web. Can the VPN function be used at the same time as the Tethering function? 2g iPhone 3.0. TIA

I don't see why not the VPN function should just be serving as the portal into the internet while the tethering is the actual connection
so the Tether is the acutal House while the VPN is the front door into the house.
My old IT guy use to use tethered connections on our VPN at my old firm when he was traveling told me it was no big deal that was back when he was using an old motorola as a dial in connection.
Hope that helps and it can't hurt to tryLast edited by MREY; 09-09-2009 at 11:01 AM. Reason: additional info

WARNING!
iPhone OS 3.1 has new restrictions on which IPCCs it will accept. If you need this functionality, do not update to iPhone OS 3.1 without first reading (and understanding) the following explanation.
Technical explanation: It would appear as though iPhone OS 3.1 will accept a new IPCC if it has a higher version number than the one installed on the phone. I have posted an ATT IPSW, version 15.0, which is identical to my 5.0 IPCC in every way other than version number. Try this with iPhone OS 3.1 to see if it enables tethering. To restore the IPCC which is included with iPhone OS 3.1, simply reinstall the 5.0 IPCC. (iPhone OS 3.1 will revert to the version bundled with the OS if you attempt to install one with a version number lower than what is bundled with the OS.)
Source: iPhone-Dev.ca
You cannot remove the bundle through Cydia. Those packages install in a different location. Instructions on how to remove an IPCC are in the first post.
All links point to the latest version as long as they were created by me no matter where they are.
You don't need to uninstall a bundle if you change plans. Just install the one that matches your new plan. It will overwrite the old one.Last edited by SpookyET; 09-10-2009 at 03:53 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I've been using the T-mobile postpaid flexpaid 1.0.5 bundle for about two months and haven't updated to the 1.0.7 bundle because i haven't had problems. when the dev team releases an update for me to update to iphone 3.1, will it get rid of my bundle? if so, will the 1.0.7 bundle work?
If neither of them work, can i still delete my ipcc and enter the settings manually?Last edited by lord ryttingham; 09-10-2009 at 04:16 PM.

I may have a dumb question, I may not. Since I updated to 3.0 I haven't been able to send MMS, I had no problem prior to the 3.0 update. I do have a 3g also. My question is, is there a new carrier bundle that I need to install along with 3.0 to make the mms work properly?
