Cydia Package Creation Hack that Phone - Creating a Cydia repository
Conflict control http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/...control.5.html

That's a start. Personally, I'd use MacPorts over Fink any day.
Also, the tutorial is missing information about conflicts.
You can't install T-Mobile BlackBerry and T-Mobile Sidekick.
They conflict. The user must be prompted.
Volunteers?

You must know how to use the BSD system in Terminal. You must know some shell scripting. You must have small knowledge of Git.

SpookyET/ironicirony...THANK YOU! I had tried everything and MMS was not working except for receiving. With this...I'm able to send now...takes like 30 secs but it works!!! Thank you so much...i've installed the latest version and it was easy to installed. i have the following
Tmobile family plan
$5.99 web
using epc.tmobile.com
Iphone 3G with 3.0

Already hit the Thanks tab!!!

Dumb question: if a new version comes out (say 1.0.5)....should we upgrade to the new one, for those who have v. 1.0.4? Thanks again.

Perhaps I'll have to do Cydia packages myself after all. It's not that hard. I just want other people involved in the project because I will leave T-Mobile when I move, and someone else will have to take over the project.

BigBoss has been contacted. We'll see what he has to say about this.

Hey guys. Quick question. I previously downloaded 1.0.2 with the "custom" T-mobile package. I have a 2G, T-mobile USA, T-zone. Everything is working great. Sending/recieving/picture quality. However, I am only allowed to use the Wap.voicestream.com settings. Anytime I try to change it for my carrier settings my MMS goes blank. Will the updated package fix this so Im able to use EPC.tmobile.com?

Thanks

You cannot use epc for MMS. That's it. I'll disable the Cellular Data Network menu for good like official Apple carriers in the next update. If you're roaming or insert an unknown SIM, you'll see it again.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Sorry if i wasnt clear.

Im not looking to change my MMS APN. (It is currently showing Wap.voicestream.com and working great.) What I am looking to do is change my Cellular Data APN from wap.voicestream.com to epc.tmobile.com. Everytime i try to change my Cellular Data from the Wap to the EPC, the APN for MMS dissapears.

Which version of the package do you have? Which bundle are you using? wap is used for prepaid only. No other bundle has it. epc will not work on prepaid.

As the author, you obviously have the right to include or remove any feature you'd like. But if you remove the ability to change the settings and a user needs to change an APN as has been mentioned, then the user is SOL.

Personally I think you should have a readme or something that tells people they are responsible for whatever they put on their phone, and if it doesn't work, then they only have themselves to blame.

That said...however, if you remove the ability to modify the settings, you also remove the "Reset Settings"; and that feature is important for anyone that may have an issue with their phone.

Anyway, thanks so much for making this available.

I am using TMobile_US_Postpaid_Tmobile_Logo 1.0.2.ipcc

I am postpaid and Wap is currently working as my Carrier APN/MMS APN.

Weird. It's not the bundles fault. It's not querying the internet. It's not running apps. It's not making your phone hot. If Internet works for you now when it previously did not, it's got to be a setting or an app who just found internet access and is draining your battery.

Maybe, for Cydia, someone will help me create a menu in the settings that would allow you to switch between different T-Mobile plans. So, there will be a single package instead of 12.

If you install an IPCC file, reset settings will not reset to factory default. It will reset to IPCC. So, if you change your apn, and type reset settings, the settings I made will be restored. That menu is not much use.
