As people start using their shiny new 3GS's I was wondering if anyone has successfully moved their 3GS over to T-Mobile? I'm curious to see if the 3G network will work (even though it's highly unlikely without a hack of some sort) because rumor has it the frequency matches T-Mobile's now..

1. iPhone 3.0 OS will not work with T-Mobile until ultrasn0w is released.

2. The iPhone 3GS has not yet been jailbroken, therefore it is not possible to use with T-Mobile.

3. The frequencies for T-Mobile's 3G are still different. Only EDGE for us.

I suggest using the search tool and/or looking at the news section in the homepage.

That's funny, because I'm using iPhone OS 3.0 on my iPhone 2G right now with T-Mobile..

First of all, that wasn't what was being asked, and second of all, he made separate points to mention that 3.0 will not work with T-Mobile (in general) until ultrasn0w is released, THEN that the 3GS will not work with T-Mobile.

Well if you want to make assumptions about what I said, then I will assume that this person is interested in info about the 3GS, and not about a phone that was released 2 years ago.

I don't believe that a "(in general)" is a quote from me. And if you know the answer to your own question why did you ask it? It is clearly answered in the front page and dev-team blog. All you have to do is look for your answer. One tries to help you by answering and all you get in return is judging? I could have gone your way and told you to use search tool (like most people do). And well, if you're smart enough to jailbreak your own 2G, then you can search for answers (which all point against) on jailbreaking a 3GS. Nevertheless, good luck with that!

And the list goes on and on. I am certainly not the only one. I can give you hundreds of examples of people asking people to use the SEARCH function in order to PREVENT from questions being asked, to which most people know the answer. These answers can EASILY be found by simply SEARCHING.

Can I get some suggestions on how you guys are going to buy a 3GS without paying 600 bux? There must be a way to find it for cheaper then the full price? Any suggestions?

You may get lucky in Craigslist...but eBay usually has a bunch of last minute paranoids who will quadruple the price within 30 seconds. Its quite amusing actually. I've seen 3G's go for $650 just because they came with a case and a screen protector. People can be pretty stupid when it comes to bids.

But since the phone just came out, you're pretty much out of luck. And if it's ever jailbroken, then prices will rise even more. Until the new one comes out in a year...it's all a vicious cycle.
