Will My iPhone work in Italy?

I am traveling to Italy in July.

My iPhone (2G/8GB + 2.2) was recently upgraded using QuickPwn.

I am a USA T-Mobile customer.

Will my phone work in Italy?

If I wanted to buy a European SIM card while in Italy, what would I need to do to make it work with my iPhone?

The 2G can be unlocked - have you unlocked it yet? If so, it will work in Italy (or anywhere else in Europe, Australia etc) with a local SIM.

Like confucious asked, make sure you unlocked it during the qwkpwn process.
Don't get too fancy trying to use internet while you're out there. If you do make sure its wifi.

If the iPhone is being used on T-Mob in the US then yes, it is already unlocked.
The OP made two distinct statements:

1) they have an iPhone that has been updated by quickpwn
2) they are a t-mobile customer

If the two are linked then the phone is unlocked but you would be surprised how many people, when asked, say that the two comments were unrelated - strange, but true.

Thanks all. Just returned from vacation and the phone did work in Italy! I was on the TIM network and used Wifi.

yea. When your phone is unlocked it can be used with any carrier that supports the use of a SIM card.
