Newbie needs serious help setting up iphone on tmobile

Hello

I just bought an unlocked 3g iphone from someone running 2.2 (5g77) firmware 02.28.00
he did a software unlock- he has cyndia and ********** on the phone
I am new to having an iphone.

I popped in my sim that had a blackberry data plan- the phone and text portion works perfectly.
I entered in the apn: internet2.voicestream.com, tried apc.tmobile.com
nothing seems to get me on the internet. I have data roaming on, vpn not configured, wifi off and 3g off. So I called tmobile and they wanted me to change to the total internet plan. I did and still no internet.

Can anyway point me in the right direction??

one last note:

when I open safari - it says " cannot open page- safari cannot open page because it is not connected to the internet"

The APN you want to use is epc.tmobile.com.

i miss typed in my post- i tried epc and that didnt work as well- any clue?

epc is the correct cellular data network for the plan you have.
For some reason it seems that it takes 24 hours or more for it to work.
So leave the epc there.
T Mo has a smart phone support. Since you are paying don't hesitate to call them if the problem continues.

did u try restting network settings? im on the sidekick pre paid plan and all i did was pop in sim reset network settings and i was good to go..text ,web,maps,pandora radio all work.. i jus cant get swirly mms to work 100%... didn't have to put any APN NOTHING it jus worked.. im on 2G 2.2.1 so dunno if this is gonna help ..
