can i import my contacts and photos from t-mobile sim to iPhone?
another question, can i import all my contacts and my saved photos on my sim card from t-mobile to the iPhone 2G, or will i have to type all of them in again and lose my pictures and caller id pics?

yes to contacts, but no for pictures because pictures are not stored on a sim card.
Settings->Mail,Contacts,Calendar->Import SIM Contacts
