what were you thinking? try to put the phone into DFU and restore to 2.2.1 and unlock/jailbreak it from there with quickpwn.

stop reading guides dated back to last year...
    1.1.1>1.1.2>1.1.4>2.0>2.1>2.2>3.1>3.1.2 blackra1n'd

When it happened to me what did was hold the home and sleep/wake button down until it was forced to reboot then after it boots it should display an image saying to plug it into iTunes. Good luck hope this works.

try to hold the home and power button down for 15 seconds. then let go of the home button and keep holding the power down until you see the itunes screen on the phone.
