iphone help

I have an iphone a1203 8gb. I'm not sure what model this is a 2g or a 3g lol so Could some one tell me, also It's suposivly unlocked for T-mobile and I have an internet plan but when I called T mobile and Asked why it wasnt working they told me my phone wasnt fully unlocked and I have to get the setttings from the internet lol when I go to general-network I dont have Edge in there Can some one please help me out?

Well first of all, a 2g iphone (first generation) will have a silver back with the bottom 1/3 being black. The 3g (second generation) will have an all black back with a more rounded shape. Is your phone able to make calls, or does it show t-mobile as your provider in the top left corner? If so, the phone is unlocked and you just need to enter the correct APN in the Cellular Data Network option under settings. Enter in wap.voicestream.com or internet2.voicestream.com, but leave the username and password blank. If you don't have the cellular data option under settings, go to unlockit.co.nz and download settings. Their site is pretty self explanatory. hope this helps.
