    Default Rookie Questions

Hello to all, this is my 1st post and I have a few questions.
I did some searching and after a while I started getting confused about getting EDGE to work. So my questions are...

    1. After unlocking and jailbreaking my 2g iPhone with 2.2 firmware, and I already added tzones to my plan what is the next step to get the safari, apps etc.working? When searching I saw that you need to change the apn settings but the EDGE is not showing up in settings and I'm a little confused now

    2. With the tzones do I need the unlimited testing added on? Or is that included

    3. What are the best settings to preserve battery life?
    Thanks

I believe that with tzones, you have to set your apn to epc.tmobile.com. You can do this under network settings if the option is still visible or use unlockit.co.nz. I am personally using wap.voicestream.com and I don't have a data package, yet I still get edge at about 200kbs which seems to be average for edge speed.

I don't have t-zones but I think many of them have done the Big Boss hack in Cydia for it. Someone may want to clarify if that is working properly with the newest firmware update. Also, I used the US carrier hack in Cydia to get my internet working, although it seemed more a thing of luck than of anything else. Hope you get it to work.

PS, for best battery life, you should set fetch to manual and keep your wifi off. If the phone is constantly searching for data, it will drain your battery faster.
