To still get T-Zones 5.99 read this!!!

Can I still get this? I have nokia 5310 that I put the web2go on for $9.99 about two weeks ago. I now have a 2g that is working fine, but I am worried about going over the 50mb limit.

I do have a 3 yr old razr I could slap my sim in and call and hope they will let me have the $5.99 unlimited back. I have never had T-zones, but I have been with T-mobile for 6 years.

A few questions:

1. What should I say when I call? Should I white lie and say thought I had it when I had my razr?

2. What happens when I go over my 50mb limit with my web2go? Do they charge so much per mb or do they shut it off?

3. I assume that when I am surfing via wifi that does not count against my 5omb with T-mobile?

4. Where do i see my current MB usage on T-mobile's website.

Thanks for the idea that I may can still get the T-zones and any other help would be appreciated.

Answers are from my thoughts. (I'm not really sure, but most are common sense type.)

1- Just make sure you call with the razr.

2- They charge you per mb.

3- Wifi does not count towards your t-mobile account.

4- I don't know about this one. I assume they should show it somewhere on their page.

I went to the store and a bud said its not even in the computer anymore...........Also I called to confirm and they DO NOT have tzones 5.99 plan when you ask for the 5.99 plan they say it is no longer available and offer you the web to go for 9.99 also they told me, that is you do go over they stop the overage fees at 15 buxs...So the guys that have it now kudos to you!

Just how unlucky am I?!
I was a total n00b in terms of iPhone until I decided to buy one for my girlfriend last thursday and spent the following friday researching to possibly get one for myself.

First, I miss by minutes the chance to buy one iPhone for myself when Mac store had online the Refub'd 2G 4GB ones @ $150 go Out of Stock.

Now... there isn't even a way to squeeze the T-zones plan anymore.

Maybe this is a sign I am not supposed to have one.

Here's my story:

I was with verizon, but wanted to use an Iphone so I bought one off ebay and planned on switching to T-mobile in December when my contract with verizon was over.

After searching and reading many posts on this site (thank you all forum members, you helped me with unlock, activation, EDGE settings, etc) I went and talked to the Tmobile guy in november about switching and back then they still had the Tzones.

Of course, later I found out that they took off Tzones while I was waiting for my contract with verizon to end. BUMMER And I tried a few of the various methods here in this blog with my sister's tmobile phone (adding tzones through an old tzones phone, etc) but none of them seemed to work. So my last resort was the store rep.

I went in yesterday to switch to tmobile and it was the same guy I had talked to before. I reminded him who I was and asked for my plan, including the 5.99 web he had told me about as if I didn't know they had switched. He then told me that they had changed data plans and that I couldn't get that one anymore. He said that because Tmobile had been largely switching to 3G they upped the data prices. I tried to convince him to let me have the Tzones because on my previous visit that's what we had set up, PLUS there is not even any 3G coverage where I live yet, so why should I have to pay extra? He told me that he couldn't help me because it wasn't even in the system to add.

So, I was a new Tmobile customer, and I couldn't add Tzones when signing up. (But I went ahead and signed up anyway)

So, Now I have a perfectly working Iphone (second generation) on the Tmobile network thanks to the Modmyiphone community. But unforutnately I have to pay more than I originally planned. (i got the 19.99 unlimited messaging, 100MB data limit)

Customer service just added T-mobileWeb onto my account. About 10 days ago I trimmed of extra services from my account on t-mobile.com including t-mobileWeb because edge is not consistent with Gevey-3G sim card. But then I came across this post and saw that T-mobile is replacing the unlimited web with a 100mb limited service. Since the Dev Team finally came out with the soft unlock (no more sim adapters), I can use edge again (soon) without being annoyed of its random disappearance.

When I asked the rep to add T-mobleWeb back to my account, she said that she couldn't do it because its not offered anymore. I insisted, so she tried, but to no avail. I gave her an IMEI of a Razr and a Nokia Xpress..she was still unable to add it. So finally after 3-4 unsuccessful tries I was gonna hang up, but it miraculously worked on the last try. She kept telling me it was really weird how it came back. She refreshed her page to make sure that it was added. I logged into my account on t-mobile.com to confirm and its there.

So keep trying 4-5 times.

So there you go, it still works, consistence pays off just ask "ausdhnj" it worked for him on 12.24.08 so they still have it, just keep trying.

My guess is that, after the rep manually enters an IMEI that supports T-mobileWeb, it takes the system about 5 minutes to update and then allows him/her to add the service.

I tried 4 times, but they insist that T-zones is no longer available and that they don't have the code to input it. I even provided my IMEI# and had them wait to see if they can add it. I tried four times. I will try again one more time, but if I cannot do it would you guys recommend the web2go 9.99 for 100MB. Do you guys think that 100MB is enough for use of checking e-mail, Google maps, some web surfing?

I'll see what happens when I call again today.

I have as Blackberry and they let me try out the full BB data for a month (I wanted to see what the tether speed was as I have dialup) and I went to the 20 dollar plan, then right back to the T-zones. I have another iPhone in transit to my house and it seems that so long as you have a t-zones phone and/or play dumb, they will give it to you. So long as youre persistent and dont say "LALALAA I haves and iPhone and Immma workin tha sistimz" youll be fine. The other option is to take a "Tzones" phone and enable it via the Tzones app.

You can try telling them that you went onto t-mobile.com and added t-zones last month and it didn't show up on your account, so that's why you're calling.

As a side note: if you put your sim card into any unlocked phone, t-mobile knows it and usually keeps a record of it. So, if you've ever used an iphone or currently use one, don't deny it. It will just look shady because the rep already knows that you have one.

As of 12-26-08 at 5:50 pm i popped my sim card into my old tmobile phone and called 611 asked for the 5.99 tzones and it was put on. Not one question asked and was never asked for phone model or iemi #. I then put the sim back in my iphone set the apn to epc.tmobile.com and was instantly working. Email maps internet etc...everything worked perfect 2 seconds after calling them. So if anyone says it cant be done haha thats bull. On mytmobile it showed the added feature on my account (tmobile web 5.99) Don't know why anybody is having trouble.

I was just successful at getting tzones too. took 2 calls but I finally got Melissa and she put it right thru. 12-26-08 @ 7:50 PM PST

BUT online tmobile website it is called T-Mobileweb for 5.99. can anyone verify this is what T-zones is now called? Is it truely unlimited bandwidth per month?

Even if they did add it, it shouldn't work 2 seconds after calling them because it should take some time to provision the account.

I have the $20 data, I never had to call tmo about anything, everything works with unlimited internet.

you may not notice at first but the $6 plan is not full internet, you only get bare bones, and what tmo wants you to see.

Can you post a screenshot of your account showing the $5.99 T-zones? My brother has had T-zones for years now and it shows up a T-MobileWeb on his account.

It won't work. I tried calling from an old razr that had t-zones and it didn't work. I tried signing up for t-zones from the phone itself and at the last step it says this plan is no longer offered.

Yes. I don't have t-mobile service now, but my plan is to get a razr v3 and use that to get t-mobile service and t-zones. Then step 2 is to get an iphone 2g (which I'm trying to get now on craigslist) and switch the sim card.

I'm going to meet the lady soon for the v3 so please let me know if it won't work.
